It only took 82 years?!

For the first time in the Oscars's 82-year history, a woman won the award for Directing - Kathryn Bigelow for "The Hurt Locker."

This is awesome, but also kind of lame it took this long.

I hope she puts a dress on that damn statue.

P.S. No, I haven't seen it yet, but I will now immediately do so on principle alone. It just looks so sad!

  1. I can't believe it took 82 years, but I'm glad it happened. Also...thanks for pointing it out. One of my students actually accused someone of being "overly feminist" the other day. I nearly gagged in horror, before I informed her skinny 21 year old ass that the only reason she's even in College is because of people being "overly feminist." Sheesh. Thanks for calling our attention to this deserving director, Abbey!
